EFEKTIFITAS KOMPRES HANGAT DAN DINGIN PADA PERUBAHAN TEKANAN DARAH PASIEN HIPERTENSI DI PUSKESMAS BLOOTO KOTA MOJOKERTO
Abstract
Hypertension is an increase in blood pressure in the arteries. Signs and
symptoms that arise from this hypertension are dizziness, headaches, stiff neck pain
(neck pain / nape). Nape aching or pain can interfere with daily activities. One of the
non-pharmacological measures to deal with the neck pain is pain by doing warm and
cold compresses. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of
warm and cold compresses on the changes in blood pressure of hypertensive patients
in Blooto Health Center, Mojokerto City. The design of this study is Quasi
Experiment. The population of all hypertensive patients in October 2019 was 80
people. Data retrieved by observing. Statistical tests using (Paired t test) with the help
of SPSS Version 16.0. The results showed that those who had blood pressure dropped
by 26 respondents (65.0%) and increased by 25 respondents (62.5%). Based on the
statistical test results of the analysis of warm compress data p value = 0,000, then p
value <ɑ (0.05) and coefficient correlation coefficient 0.552 and cold compress p
value = 0.644 then p value> ɑ (0.05) and coefficient correlation 0.075. The results of
this study indicate the effectiveness of warm compresses on reducing blood pressure.
Warm compresses are more effective than cold compresses. It is proven that warm
compresses cause vasodilation (dilation of blood vessels), increase muscle relaxation
and facilitate circulation so that oxygen supply becomes better so that the neck pain
decreases.
