PENGARUH EDUKASI KESEHATAN TERHADAP TINGAT PENGETAHUAN IBU TENTANG PENANGANAN BALITA TERSEDAK DI PAUD SACHAROSA KECAMATAN KRIAN
Abstract
Toddlers are very at risk of experiencing various events that can threaten
their lives, such as choking or aspirations of foreign objects. So that this does not
happen, the parents' knowledge about the dangers and handling in choking cases
must be increased considering that if handling is not right or wrong, it will worsen
the child's condition. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of
education on the level of maternal knowledge about handling choking toddlers. The
design of this study was pre-experimental with a one group design pretest-posttest
test approach. The study population was all mothers of children under five in
PAUD Sacharosa, amounting to 30 people. The sampling technique in this study
was total sampling, so that a sample of 30 people was obtained. This research was
conducted on 18 May - 23 May 2020. The instrument used a questionnaire. The
results showed that most respondents had less knowledge before being given health
education, 26 people (86.7%), and enough knowledge, 4 people (13.3%), after
being given health education, most of them had enough knowledge, 16 people (
3.3%), and a good level of knowledge, 14 people (46.7%). Wilcoxon Test analysis
results obtained pvalue = 0,000 or <α (0.05) so that H1 is accepted, which means
there is an influence of education on the level of mother's knowledge about
handling choking toddlers. Health education provides information about handling
choking toddlers thereby increasing maternal knowledge.
