PENGARUH KIE (KOMUNIKASI, INFORMASI DAN EDUKASI) TENTANG INFORMASI KEADAAN PASIEN DENGAN TINGKAT KECEMASAN KELUARGA PASIEN DI INTENSIF CARE UNIT
Abstract
Critical patients experience illnesses or conditions that threaten life safety.
Patients who need intensive care, invasive and noninvasive monitoring are the
conditions of patients who are admitted to the ICU. This causes the patient’s
family come with various kinds of stressors. The purpose of this research is to
prove the influence of KIE (Communication, Information and Education) about
patient’s condition information with the level of patient's families anxiety in
intensive care unit. The research method was used pre experimental design with
one group pre test-post test design. Population are all patient’s family members in
the Intensive Care Unit of Anwar Medika Hospital, Sidoarjo. The sampling
technique used in this research was consecutive sampling. The instrument in this
research was a questionnaire. Based on the results of Wilcoxon signed rank test
test it was found that the value of p value = 0,000 and α = 0.05, then this shows p
<α which means that this research shows that there is an influence of KIE
(Communication, Information and Education) about patient’s condition
information with the level of patient's families anxiety in intensive care unit.
Nurses are expected to improve the welfare of not only the patient but the patient's
family through increasing the nurse's ability to provide communication,
information and education about patient's condition.
